With the support of the employees, the young graduates of the German Language and Culture Center (GLCC) visited Prince Regent Charles Hospital in Bujumbura on Saturday morning, March 29, 2025, for a charitable cause. The aim of the visit was to support 50 patients in various hospital wards who are particularly vulnerable.
The young people distributed food and other essential goods such as rice, beans, and soap.
The training program offered by the GLCC includes not only language learning but also German culture. In this way, the students are taught the necessary skills that enable them to integrate smoothly into German society. Mutual help is an essential part of this culture.
That is why we organized this visit to set a good example.
We currently have two cohorts that are about to complete their initial training and take the next steps. The GLCC students initially benefit from a German learning program. They then take the Goethe test with the aim of completing three years of vocational training in German companies and thus building a long-term career. This initiative was launched to offer young Burundians this opportunity. On the one hand, Burundi’s young population is looking for employment opportunities after graduation; on the other hand, there is a shortage of skilled workers in Germany. The GLCC therefore acts as a bridge between these two countries to find solutions to these two challenges.
